La Prairie is a city of Quebec. It is part of the MRC de Roussillon in the Montérégie region [1]. It is situated at the confluence of the St. Lawrence River on the South Shore of Montreal and the Saint-Jacques. In 1845 the town was founded the village of Laprairie. A year later, that of Laprairie de la Magdalene is created. In 1909, la prairie smart cream received its city status. The realization of a railway, the first in Canada, between La la prairie and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu greatly accelerated the commercial development of the village. Maritime transport has also played an important role in the history laprairienne. In 1668 the site was named as the Iroquois Kentaké which means "the meadow". In the beginning of the story in Montreal, the territory of La la prairie was repeatedly visited by the English and Iroquois of New York, among others during shipping Anglo-Iroquois Peter Schulyer in 1691, which caused two battles August 11, 1691. Although the hot summer and cold in winter, La la prairie is characterized by a generally temperate climate. It is also increasingly felt in the spring and fall. Winters are cold and sometimes long (the snow is usually present from mid-November to mid-April), with temperatures sometimes below minus 30 degrees Celsius, without adding the wind factor. Snowfall can often reach 40 cm thick. In summer, the annual temperatures exceed 30 degrees, which punctuates the temperature of heat waves frequent.
